Awakened this morning with concern over the weather forecast. What will we get? What will all of that water
do? The front of our home is 95%
window. Will it be get too much rain and
wind for the glass to sustain the pressure?
Will the hand of god slam down on our roof and cause havoc ruining the
carpet?????
Okay, so I’ve decided to put away the fears or at least push
them down to a manageable level. Here’s
what I know about Cyclone Lusi that formed in the Pacific north of the
north island. It is predicted to make
landfall tonight and cause gusty winds of 160km (that’s about 80 mph gusts) and
lots of much needed rain. Will haul in a
few bottles of H2O, just in case. Will bring
the potted plants on the deck in for the night. Will give a full report in the
morning, with pictures if we have electricity. Will plan to be just fine.
But this morning was wonderful with a glowing sunrise.
The tiresome 'red sky in the morn, sailors forewarn' she remarked blithely. |
A neighbor took me to lunch two days ago, after a marathon
of marketing at various and sundry shops.
She knows I love bargains and I now have a few more interesting places
to frequent. We enjoyed chatting and eating Filipino food. Yesterday a friend
came over with two noodle dishes which 'I had to eat', because noodles are for
longevity and an essential component of birthday celebrations. They were marvelous.
And to top off the celebration was the best component of
all: Sans
Rival, a Filipino dessert made of butter-cream sandwiched between and topping 4 layers of meringue, infused
with chopped cashews.
This dessert is not too sweet and every bite
delights with crisp, chewy, buttery, cream flavor. So good with a stiff cup of
coffee. Will plan to make it from the recipes on the internet or just buy it
when in need of food goodness.
All is good. J
